We all want what is best for our dogs so I thought maybe we could take turns and tell others on theis board what we feed our dogs and share some reciepes along the way.

I have fed Chalice raw and kibble diets. I have to say she looked good on the raw but I found it time consuming in the morning trying to get my son up and the dogs cared for and get to work on time when I live 34miles from work. So now I feed her kibble with organic yogurt and egg and vitamin supplements and once a week a raw chicken wing. It is quick and easy.

this looks like a good and fast reciepe

Canine Hash

1 cup bulgur or whole wheat couscous

1cup of shredded turkey or chicken

1 tablespoon veggie oil

5,000IU vit A

1 1/2 teaspoon powdered eggshell

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and the bulgur cover and simmer for 10 to 20 min.add the meat once cooked add the rest of the ingredients. You can add 1 1/2 teaspoon of bone meal to this also and it will balance out the micro nutrients our dogs need.

Sound easy enough I think I will give it try.

Great recipe idea. I have always just fed regular old dry food but I am starting to integrate some raw into my feed. The plan is to completely switch over eventually but I don't want to make a drastic change.

I hear ya. Iwould like to have all of my dogs on raw but I think it could get abit spendy. I am gonna talk to some people at the farmers market this year and see if I can get the waste dirt cheap. By waste I mean the food that didn't grow right and they can't sell.

I grew up on a farm were we raised our own meat and grew gardens to live off of. I thought I was being good to our dogs by feeding them so called good commercial dog food. After checking out dog foods and what were in them it made me feel bad that I had paid close enough attention to what I had been feeding them. Look at the garbage fast foods are pushing on people. Commercial food in stores arent much better. Organic is really good but also x-pensive. With friends at the slaughter house and growing a garden it makes it a lot cheaper. I feed Canidae All Life Stage and add different vegetables/meats each day for a varity instead of the same ole same ole.

Yepp I hear ya. This year I plan on having a garden. My son is excited about helping make a go of this. We will have chickens again this year so we have the eggs. I can't kill anything let alone think of eating something I raised so we still buy what ever meat we want at the store or from the local farmers.

Have any of you guys ever had guinea fowl? They are pretty cool to have around and the eggs are better than chicken eggs.

We had them yrs ago but I've never tried the eggs. They were mostly "watchdogs".
