| So I took Rocky and Zues for a walk today and passed quite a few other dogs, He's starting to show his "True colors"..Over the years I have been able to keep Zues fairly well behaved around other dogs but Rocky, Well. Rocky had been good up until now, I'm just wondering if it's possible if It's just because he has been cooped up most of the winter..What do yall think?????? | |

| How old is Rocky?
I don't walk my dogs in public, we have a trail that we walk, I agree with socializing them, but I can do that in my own home being I have 9 other dogs to do that with. I just don't get why everyone thinks dog aggression is such a horrible thing. You have a "pit bull" they are meant to be dog aggressive. To me if you take that out of the dog, or you don't want that in your dog, then you don't want a pit. JMO though.
As far as public displays, shows, are the places my dogs will go. Where its accepted and people know what to expect. I just don't want my dogs put in a situation, where they are succeptable to the "BAD PIT" Reputation.

| He's about 7 months or so. His dog friendly nature was short lived..LOL Or it could just be that we have been hibernating most the winter, I guess only time will tell for sure...Don't get me wrong though, I know it's coming I just thought it wouldn't be so soon..LOL Like I said, Over the years I have been able to get Zues to act "Somewhat" decent around other dogs..He is still ready to go, with his hair standing on end..LOL | |

Well said in my opinion, as I share the same feelings and we don't walk our dogs in public either.

| Well, It's a river walk type of thing and usually there are not many dogs and Zues is pretty well behaved, not perfect though.. Hopefully Rock is just being a "HEATHEN" cause he's not been out for a while, maybe he's just bluffing..LOL | |

| he has DA, he has only shown aggression without i guess you could say probabel cause a couple times lol. he wont put up with another dog barking at him that is for sure. I believe when i say come or look no matter what the situation or breed they need to listin. if i see another dog i will go out of my way to pass by him while walking rico to practice this. | |

That's all well and good, I'm just not willing to put my dog in that situation, YOU can control your dog, what if you can't control the dog walking beside him or near him, then you've got problems. And its never blamed on the other dog, always the pit bull, you want good image for your dog great, but put him somewhere in controlled environment where dog aggression is accepted and everyone knows what to do. That's all I'm saying. I have control over my dogs, but I can't control another dog, and I'm sorry but if a lab walks up to my dog, bites him because that dog is uncontrollable, i don't expect my dog to tuck his tail and run, this is why I don't put any of my dogs in that situation period. It's like telling my child that if someone hits you don't hit back, bull, if someone hits you you !!!!! well better stand your ground or you look like a total fool.

So I think its perfectly normal. Now if you can control it that's great. Atleast you know what your dog is and what its capable of.

Same w/ Legend. When I walk him I also keep Direct Stop and/or doggie mace. The Direct Stop is used for the friendly or seemingly friendly dogs that there owner is nowhere to be found and getting to close to Legend. The doggie mace is for the ones that come barreling out from nowhere barking, growling and acting a !!!!! fool. I take no chances on Legend getting into a fight out in public(as well as at home).

| Yep I understand the bite stick or spray, and if you have to walk in an area that your dog might be succeptable to the bs that goes on with other dog owners being stupid I do as well. your dog need exercise, and a non excerised pit is usually an unhappy one that destroys everything in site (meaning materials). I realized that you guys didn't walk your dogs with someone else's or beside, I guess I can consider myself lucky I don't have to deal with other dogs, and if there's a stray usually my dog or something around would scare it off anyways. So I really have no worries. When I lived in town though, i didn't walk my dogs everyday, but they did get some sort of activity with me everyday. The only time I ever walked a dog in public is when Zoe was about to go into labor, and we walked her around the block a few times to try and induce. | |

| I'm going to keep walking him where I have for a while more just to make sure it's not just a fluke..If it is DA and I cant keep him from flopping around like a fish out of water, Well I'll cross that bridge when I get to!! LOL (Don't want to jinx myself) | |
