Poor Baby.....

Yesterday, Axel got bit by some sort of spider and his face swelled up like a balloon . We took him to the vet and they gave him medicine. Every half hour for 7 hours. By 4pm yesterday he was up and drinking water. We had to give him water through a bendy straw .

Today he was running around and the swellign on his face was soooo much better.

Still, it made me very upset

Is he one of your pups? Do you know what kind of spider bit him?

Shoot, spider wise? We have black widows and their hibrids, brown recluses and their hibrids, hibris, ujmping spiders, taranchulas, and these weird looking green ones, not ot mention all sorts of freakishly weird hibrids.

I absolutely can not stand spiders they freak me out!

today his face is 95% back to normal! Plus, he seems soooo sooo much better! The medicine really worked!

Well I'm glad Axel is getting better. You all think I'm nuts anyhoo so I will let you know that I love spiders I paint around their webs I clean around them. I love to have spiders in my house. Sorta like good luck to me.

Hahahahahaha I know..... But the snakes that i have are nice and cute, Spiders are gross and ugly.....

Speaking of snakes.... I met up with three HUGE water moccosins while I was camping..... scared me half to death.

It was, I actually started crying (and I don't do that very often).

But, all the guys brought at LEAST 1 gun to shoot, (I swear they brought enough ammo to support a small army). They all shot those things to death. I kinda felt bad for them... but then I thought "Shoot, at least no one is going to the hospital!"

They shot spiders!!!!! Sounds like a good time!!!! hahahahahhahaha I watched people shoot rock bass, apparently they wipe out the good bass....

i'm kinda the same.... my Scottish ancestry says its bad luck to kill spiders..... but i dont want them in my house... or on me... or on the ceiling above my head.... in fact, today i removed two spiders, dont know what types but they had huge rear ends, a harmless type i'm sure.... one of them had a great big egg sack in her nest..... i could only imagine there was about a bazillion little baby spiders getting ready to infest my house.... no...not a chance. i found a shish-kabob skewer and gathered up spiders, eggs and all and [b]threw[i] them (skewer included) out my back door....

lol i think its funny, the only time i'll smoosh a spider is if its on me, or on my kid, or in my car...... i just dont wanna take the chance! bad luck be damned! my husband isnt as bad as i figured he would be considering a brown recluse bit him on the face a few years back. any time he sees a wolf spider he looks at it closely for that little violin marking.

Ok, Here is alittle info about where i am from....
IM CANADIAN!!!!

NO poisonious anything here.... We dont have water moccisons, We dont have recluse spiders, or wolf spiders.....
Everything that is here is NON POISONIOUS..... Oh there was a cobra found in Toronto but it got there from an American smuggling it in...
So please, before you start to laugh at me, cus i dont know what a water moccasin is, remember that im from canada..... And you know what, Thank god im here, Cuz America sounds alittle dangerous if you can just walk out and get bit but a deadly spider...... So enjoy your poisonious spiders and deadly snakes, Cuz im fine with my captive Pythons, That cant kill me.....

nah i wasnt poking fun, i understood completely that you might not know what a moccasin was lol actually when i was a little bitty kid, learning about the pilgrims and Native Americans in Kindergarten class, we were told that moccasins were.... shoes... So when i heard my family telling me to "Look out for water moccasins" every time i went outside..... well lets just say i was VERY confused until someone elaborated!!

I dont blame you at all for staying where you are lol i've always wanted to move above the border just to get away from the poisonous "creepy crawlies" but the downside is you guys have TONS of mosquitoes!!! not to mention TONS of snow and caribou.. mooses and elk that attack people on main street, not to mention Bears..... i like my harmless little black bears lol infact the largest predator around here is a coyote.... maybe a bob cat.. though i have seen one set of bear tracks years ago... smaller than my own foot..
lol there's risks no matter where you go.. but i do see your point.... The problem here is people buy exotic .. sometimes poisonous snakes and allow them to escape. and this being the subtropics, those snakes thrive. Not to mention the constrictors invading the everglades. anyone see that show on Discovery about the snake that busted a gut trying to swallow an alligator WHOLE?! Now THAT is enough to make me want to move to Canada!!
