| Wow earlier today I was doing Gemyni and Legend's vaccines(all except rabies of course). All goes well w/ getting Gemyni's done and did her Bordetella-the one thats intranasally...I think GiGi's still alittle ticked off about that one. lol. I go to give Legend's his and the needle wouldnt go in..I'm like WTF? So I change the needle alocohol a different spot and try again. It just wouldnt go in. I'm like I use these same kind of needles at work giving dogs shots. So why isnt working on Legend. Thats so strange?? | |

| I didnt bother trying again after I called my mom and she tried. We were both as Legend wagged his tail w/ a goofy look on his face as to say HAHA! lol. I guess I'll have to take him to the vet and have them do it. | |

| Yup I think the only one you cant do is the rabies shot. Well I think it depends on the state for the rabies. | |

| I broke two different needles tring to give my cow her shots one year. Talk about some thick skin. Goats are the same way you have to have some big needles for those guys. That is strange with Legend. I don't ever remember having trouble with a dog. | |

| You can give the dogs all of their shots in Kentucky, even Rabies, but if they were to bite someone, and you needed proof of vaccination, then you wouldn't have it. You can't just keep the receipt b/c it's not real proof the shots were given to the dog in question. I had someone give a puppy some shots bought @ the local farm store and the puppy ended up dying of parvo. We found out later he didn't do the shot right. You were supposed to mix it, and he didn't. (In my defense, I was very young and couldn't do it myself). For those reasons, I always take my girls to the vet for their shots. It's ok if you know what your doing, but it's good to have the proof in case you ever need it. | |
