That is the primary reason why we had built them. 3 fully active pups and one house dog all running around in the house at one time can be hectic. Besides the little male needs a break from the females too, just let men need their time away from their women...lol Not only that we have 11 adult females that we are raising and to me the pens are a great way to protect the females while in heat especially when you're dogs are raised outside. They really work well for us and the pups seem to love it.

sounds good, yea we will have more than a few pups, I have a pup pen, but I don't want them all in there at once obviously. Plus I'll have a litter that I'll whelp in the house around June, and I'm sure I'll be ready for them to scoot their butts out the door by 6-8 weeks with the exception of at night. I'm thinking that actually using the rubber matts like we had planned in the pup pen would be just as good as grates, I'm not really fond of grates myself, although the cleaning method was great it always left pups paws slayed and low pasterns.

8-10 sheets seems like alot but I'm sure after its all said and done that would be about what you would need, although I'm going to check them out again. Depending on the size though, which these pens seem to be pretty big, about 16 ft long I'm assuming since plywood comes in 8ft sheets, it seems you would need, 2 for top, 2 for the bottom, 2 for the back. 1 for both sides and one for the center. Do you know the dimensions?

Are there housing spots in the back as well with the holes cut out for the dogs to go into? this is the only way I can see that that many sheets would be relevant.

Regardless I really like the plans, and I think we're gonna start on some of those pretty quickly and have a couple up by mayish.

Believe it or not, the penns combined are only 8 feet. You use on sheet for the top, on for the bottom, one for the back, 1/2 sheets on each side, 1/2 sheet each for the separate housing. Where the whole is cut out is where the housing is. It allows them to go in and play around in there as well as shelter them from any wind that may come through. So in total we used 6-7 for those boxes and the rest for the pen we had.

That is a cool set-up Bullygirl. It looks like the pup enjoy it.

Thanks Mikado and its sure nice to see you. Believe it or not, they really do enjoy it. We're actually planning on adding a few more to the yard.
