Yay!!!! Manx Kittens coming!!!!

Ok!!! So most of you know that i breed Manx cats, Well have been trying too...... LOl No luck...... But finally, i have a Stumpy to Stumpy breeding!!! I took her over to my friends house that has her half brother( with cats its not as bad, its better to breed that way for genes) And they have bred, I witnessed it myself..... My manx is Sterile which really sucks!!! But i expect mostly Stumpys and maybe some Rumpies..... Wish me luck guys!!!!

i want one!! There was an albino manx female at the shelter in Tallahassee. only a kitten but she looked like a little white rabbit just bouncing off the walls. my cousin and i were just visiting the shelter that day to maybe help walk a dog or play with someone that needed. Well, lemme tell ya, this poor kitten needed it! Every time we walked past her cage she would reach out and snag someones shirt. So we took her into the play room and boy did she go nuts! sooooo much fun to play with. i almost broke my promise to my husband - no more pets until : at the time we had three cats already plus two dogs, baby on the way, in between jobs, moving in to new house bla bla bla. but like i said, almost broke the rules, but didnt because the poor dear was deaf...i dont even know how to begin to nurture a deaf cat. some people would say ALL cats are deaf for all the good it does to call their names.


Sooooo ... now we only have ONE cat and i want to get another and would love for it to be a manx. i doubt i will find another at the shelter though..

by the way, how does the manx gene work? is it recessive or dominant?
i do know of one person that has barnyard cats and he had one manx female....

Ummmmm I can almost guarrantee you, That the cat your friend had, was not manx.... My buddy has a farm and he had a few cats that were born with out tails, BUt they also had a few other deformities.... He has one that was born with 1 leg.... He had a cat born with out eyes..... It was sick... He had to "dispose" of the kittens at birth cuz they were so inbred that they were being born like that....
The Manx gene is dominate.... This litter is expected to have Rumpies and stumpies.... If that cat that was born to your friend, was to have babies, His babies would have no tails... Or at least one would.... From a Manx to Domestic bred litters, There have ALWAYS been at lest 2 Manx out of the bunch.... This breeding will be the only breeding between siblings.... I liked to use him tho, He is the perfect manx.... HIgher back end, shorter front legs and everything.... And muscle like you wouldnt believe, Kinda like a pitty..... Manx cats are very muscular cats....

BUt i will for sure keep you guys posted.... I think that she might be prego, Shes outta heat now, So i give it about 3 weeks!!!

lol i have a tendency to just bring them home without asking too,but i was REALLY trying to stick to my word and maintain self control lol lemme tell ya it wasnt easy!!

and all i know about my friend's cat is she is a descendant of a manx someone gave to them. He was a big obnoxious tom cat name... what else.. Bob. They had a friend come visit who left the windows down in his truck.. Bob sprayed it.... The guy was obviously upset and threatened to shoot bob, though he would never do such a thing, but you know how people make death threats as jokes... Well, a few weeks went by and Bob disappeared.. no one knows why but they teased their friend and accused him of actually shooting the cat. of course since Bob was a tom cat he probably just wandered off and took up somewhere else... So... this one female is the last Bob descendant lol When i moved from there i almost took her with me (Cough*withoutpermission*cough) she was just one of many barn cats but she was a sweety and deserved better.... She wasnt muscular at all though. She had the high back end like you described but she was small and lanky, probably from poor diet..
i still want a manx. i've always liked them, but i dont know much about them personality wise, except for the one my friends have.

LOL ya I dont like cats that much... But i love Manx cats!!! They are like little doggies!!! I call mine and they come running!! They are so funny!! They are deffinatly a people cat and love their attention!! They are not prissy at all like most cats are, they are calm and loyal i would say... But when its fight time, Watch out!! I have seen Manx cats tear apart pitbulls!!! My buddy Krypto (RIP) Took on my 2, Harley and Lita, and well, The dogs were hurting bad, he almost ripped their eyes out!!!! It was scary i didnt wanna get into it, i was 5 months prego!! I let them fight it out and then the next day, they were best of friends!!
